Cheap Dynasty Buys - Fantasy Football Trade Targets for Deeper Leagues

Mike Gesicki - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Andy's cheap dynasty fantasy football buys, trade targets for dynasty leagues heading into 2026. His dynasty fantasy football trade values for deeper leagues.

The offseason is often the most exciting time for dynasty fantasy football managers. With rookie drafts just a few months away, managers are analyzing every aspect of their team and determining who to buy or sell ahead of the NFL Draft.

While most managers may be jumping for the fences to acquire a high-end player, it may be wise to turn our attention to some underrated players who could be acquired at a low cost. These layers can also be "throw-ins" in a larger trade or even flipped for a late third- or fourth-round rookie pick.

All players suggested have a trade value below 2,500 on KeepTradeCut. Who are some underdeveloped dynasty assets managers should look to acquire in the offseason? Let's dive in!

Isaiah Bond, WR, Cleveland Browns

KeepTradeCut Ranking Trade Value - 2,221

KeepTradeCut Ranking - WR78

Isaiah Bond went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft due to a lingering legal issue. Bond was arrested last April but was eventually cleared of all charges in August, which prompted his late signing with the Cleveland Browns.

The 21-year-old could have been an early Day 2 selection, but was able to find a suitor shortly before the regular season.

Over his first six games, despite not having much of a preseason, Bond drew 4.3 targets per game and tallied 20.5 yards per game. Following a three-game catchless skid in Weeks 7 through 11 (Week 9 bye), Bond would begin to find his footing as a deep threat in the second half.

In his last seven games of the season, Bond would catch just seven passes but totaled an impressive 215 yards. He averaged 30.7 yards per reception and even broke three receptions for more than 40 yards.

While his overall stat line is nothing too impressive, Bond has a path to emerge in a wide receiver room that lacks much talent, outside of tight end Harold Fannin Jr. Last season, Cedric Tillman, the team's No. 2 WR, caught only 21 passes for a mere 270 yards, which placed him behind Bond on the season. Jerry Jeudy, the team's lead wideout, took a massive step back in 2025, catching only 50 passes for 602 yards and two scores.

In fact, over the last four weeks, Bond tallied more yards than Jeudy on eight fewer receptions. During this stretch, Bond earned a receiving grade higher than 66.0 in two of the four games (per PFF).

While his role as a deep threat helps bolster his yardage total, the former Texas standout has the skill set to become a reliable downfield threat in the league, as evidenced by his borderline elite 94.4 Receiving Grade on deep passes (20+ yards), per PFF, albeit in a small sample size.

In his final collegiate season, Bond posted an elite 15.9 YPR with the Longhorns and totaled 638 yards from scrimmage on just 36 touches.

Sitting near the same price tag as a late 2026 third-round pick, managers looking for an upside lotto ticket at the WR position should look to acquire Bond in a bigger deal.

Dont'e Thornton Jr., WR, Las Vegas Raiders

KeepTradeCut Ranking Trade Value - 2,075

KeepTradeCut Ranking - WR83

The other forgotten wide receiver from this rookie class to consider acquiring is fourth-round rookie Dont'e Thornton Jr. Thornton has an even smaller sample size to analyze compared to Bond, as the former Tennessee and Oregon product caught a mere 10 passes (on 30 targets) in his debut campaign. Thornton tallied just 135 yards and was unable to find the end zone.

His lack of receptions was not due to a lack of skill, as the young wideout only registered two drops, according to PFF. Instead, his struggles were likely tied to the poor QB play, as Geno Smith posted a 19:17 TD: INT while posting a 67.4% completion rate across 15 games.

However, similar to Bond, he enters the 2026 season in a wide-open receiver room, and Thornton has the skill set to find his footing and carve out a prominent role.

In college, Thornton flashed immense upside as a downfield threat. In 2024 (his final season), Thornton led the entire SEC with a 25.4 YPR. Across 16 games, Thornton would catch 26 passes for a career-best 661 yards and punch in six touchdowns.

While his debut season was mostly disappointing, Thornton opened the season in a starting role and even won a starting job over fellow rookie Jack Bech, who the team selected in the second round of the 2025 draft.

From Weeks 1 through 12, Thornton outsnapped Bech in all but two games. While Bech eventually began carving out a role in the second half, Thornton finished the season with a higher snap participation rate.

While Bond's offense has a tougher outlook heading into 2026, Thornton's can only improve. The Raiders hired former Seahawks OC Klint Kubiak to be their next head coach and are expected to add reigning Heisman winner Fernando Mendoza with the first overall pick.

With an underwhelming option penciled in as the No. 1 WR in Tre Tucker, Thornton is a prime "throw-in" to target in a larger package, as he could take on a lead role in 2026 and provide WR4 upside.

Chris Rodriguez Jr., RB, Washington Commanders

KeepTradeCut Ranking Trade Value - 2,087

KeepTradeCut Ranking - RB63

One of the most difficult backfields to project into 2026 is Washington's. Seventh-round rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt showed flashes at times but was not consistent enough to be viewed as the clear "RB1" heading into 2026.

Additionally, with it projected to enter the offseason with ample cap space, it could show interest in acquiring one of the options on the market, such as Kenneth Walker III, Breece Hall, or Travis Etienne Jr.

Acquiring Chris Rodriguez Jr. comes with some risk, given that a player like Walker would immediately take a three-down role and push Rodriguez to nothing more than a change-of-pace option. However, valued just above a 2026 fourth-round rookie pick on KTC, it makes him a low-risk asset to acquire who possesses some sneaky upside.

Rodriguez is currently a restricted free agent, but given the team's current depth chart, it is likely the Kentucky product returns to D.C. in 2026. While he spent time as the backup to Croskey-Merritt early on, when he was deployed as the lead back, he produced solid RB2 numbers.

Over his last seven games of the season (Weeks 9-18, missed two due to injury), Rodriguez averaged 10.6 PPR points per game and punched in five touchdowns. During this stretch, he logged 12 carries within the 5-yard line and took 24 total carries in the red zone. In this same stretch, Croskey-Merritt earned just 14 total red-zone carries despite playing in two more games.

If the Commanders look to spend their cap elsewhere, Rodriguez would have a good opportunity to earn the starting role out of camp.

Jaylen Wright, RB, Miami Dolphins

KeepTradeCut Ranking Trade Value - 2,221

KeepTradeCut Ranking - WR78

The other running back to target is more of a handcuff. Wright opened the season on the shelf due to a leg injury and saw rookie Ollie Gordon II claim the No. 2 job behind superstar De'Von Achane.

However, once Wright returned from the injury, he gradually took over the backup job and looked quite impressive when he was given a larger role. Over the first five games of the season, the Tennessee product totaled a mere 13.0 yards per game, but flipped the script down the stretch.

In his last five games (Weeks 14- 18), Wright totaled an average of 44.6 YPG while scoring 8.5 PPR points per game. Much of his production came in Week 14 when he replaced the injured Achane. Facing the Jets, Wright enjoyed a breakout showing, totaling 107 yards and a score on 24 attempts. During this stretch, he posted a strong 4.3 YPC, which was much higher than the 3.7 YPC he posted as a rookie in 2024.

While Wright's outlook heading into 2026 is nothing more than a handcuff, he is quickly entering the "plug-and-play" handcuff range. Per PFF, Wright generated an impressive 74.7 Rushing Grade in his sophomore season, which suggests he can produce when given the ball.

Even though he is entering his third season, Wright is only 22 years old. If he can fully claim the RB2 role in camp over Gordon, he could see his fantasy value increase significantly. He is a top name to watch in deeper leagues.

Mike Gesicki, TE, Cincinnati Bengals

KeepTradeCut Ranking Trade Value - 1,371

KeepTradeCut Ranking - TE44

Rounding out this list will be an older option at the tight end position. In fact, Gesicki is being valued below fourth-round rookie picks and may even be on the waiver wire in shallow dynasty formats.

Gesicki had a quiet start to the 2025 season, catching just eight of his 16 targets for a mere 61 yards over his first six contests. However, following a four-game absence and the eventual return of Joe Burrow, Gesicki turned in a strong conclusion to the season.

From Weeks 12 through 17, Gesicki caught 18 of his 24 targets for 233 yards and two touchdowns. During this stretch, Gesicki drew four or more targets in all but two games and even hit the six-target mark in two.

In 2024, Gesicki totaled 665 yards and two touchdowns on 65 receptions despite sharing the field with Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Managers looking for a reliable TE2 could do much worse than Gesicki.

Currently on KTC, the 30-year-old is valued below players with much worse 2026 outlooks, such as Luke Musgrave, Darnell Washington, and Evan Engram. Gesicki is under contract in Cincinnati through the 2027 season and will remain the TE1 in one of the sport's most potent units for the foreseeable future.

If you need a high-floor TE2, Gesicki is a perfect cheap trade target.
