The New York Jets had a slam dunk 2022 NFL Draft class. Garrett Wilson won the Offensive Rookie of the Year award. Meanwhile, Ahmad Gardner won the Defensive Rookie of the Year award. Furthermore, Breece Hall was playing well before suffering a torn ACL.
However, the team ended the year with a 7-10 record despite their rookie draft class. After starting the year with a 7-4 record, the Jets lost six straight games to end the season.
They now enter the offseason with questions on both sides of the ball.

What Are The New York Jets Biggest Needs On Offense?
New York’s top priority this offseason is fixing the quarterback position. Zach Wilson struggled and got benched twice last year. Mike White isn’t the answer. Furthermore, he is a free agent next month.
Reportedly the Jets want to add a veteran quarterback this offseason. They are in the mix to trade for Aaron Rodgers. New York could also explore signing Derek Carr or Jimmy Garoppolo in free agency.
Unfortunately, quarterback isn’t the team’s only need on offense. The Jets have improved their offensive line the past two years, drafting Alijah Vera-Tucker and signing Laken Tomlinson in free agency. However, the offensive tackle spot needs help.
George Fant is a free agent next month, while Duane Brown is 37 years old and a free agent next year. Furthermore, Mekhi Becton has struggled to stay healthy since his rookie season. The Jets will likely decline his fifth-year option this offseason, making Becton a free agent in 2024.
One potential draft option for New York is Dawand Jones. The Ohio State offensive tackle had a Senior Bowl record 89.5-inch wingspan. He would be an excellent second-round draft pick for the Jets.
What Are The New York Jets Biggest Needs On Defense?
Unlike on offense, New York has a talented defensive unit. However, they have a couple of linebackers set to hit the open market next month. Furthermore, the Jets could release C.J. Mosley and create up to $17 million in salary cap space.
The good news for New York is that this year’s draft class has several starting-caliber linebackers. One potential draft target is Oregon’s Noah Sewell. The Duck linebacker had 218 tackles in his college career, including 20.5 for a loss.
