WNBA Daily Fantasy Lineup Picks (5/28/24): WNBA DFS Advice for DraftKings, FanDuel

WNBA dfs lineup picks daily fantasy basketball stock

Justin Carter's top daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for 5/28/24. Expert WNBA DFS advice for DraftKings and FanDuel.

After a Monday off, the WNBA is back in action on Tuesday with a three-game slate. The Sun hosts the Mercury in what should be the best game of the evening, while the marquee game from a casual fan's perspective is probably the Sparks and Fever as the top-two picks from the 2024 WNBA Draft take the floor against each other.

But don't sleep on the final game of the night, as the Sky plays host to the Storm. Chicago has been a lot better than expected this season, sitting at 2-2 on the year so far. Seattle is off to a disappointing 3-3 start after having huge expectations in the offseason but has won two straight. This one could be really good.

In this article, I'll be providing you with some daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. These lineup picks will range from elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. The slate locks on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. EDT. Want to talk more about the WNBA? I'm always available on X and always down to discuss women's basketball: @juscarts.

WNBA DFS Picks: Forward

Ezi Magbegor (Seattle Storm) at CHI (DK: $9.4K, FD: $7.0K)

Seattle Storm big Ezi Magbegor had a breakout 2023 campaign, but there were concerns about her repeating that in 2024 after the team added Nneka Ogwumike and Skylar Diggins-Smith. Would there be enough possessions to go around for the 24-year-old Australian?

So far, it mostly looks like it. Her field goal attempts have declined from 10.6 per game to 9.2, but she's only averaging 0.3 points per game less than in 2023, scoring 13.5 per contest this season. She's increased her rebounding average from 8.1 to 8.2 and her blocks per game from 1.9 to 2.5.

Cameron Brink (Los Angeles Sparks) at IND (DK: $9.0K, FD: $6.7K)

Cameron Brink is having a strong rookie season so far, aside from the fact that she keeps committing fouls. Brink is averaging 4.4 fouls per game through the first five games of her career, which has led to a little more time on the bench than you'd ideally like to see from such an intriguing player.

However, Brink made the most of her time on the floor. Her 3.2 blocks per game currently lead the WNBA, and she's coming off her best game on Sunday against Dallas, scoring 21 points on 7-for-12 shooting and blocking three shots while adding two rebounds and three assists.

In her first meeting with the Fever, Brink had 15 points, nine rebounds, two assists, two steals, and two blocks. Night after night, the rookie out of Stanford has been filling up the stat sheet.

Temi Fagbenle (Indiana Fever) vs. LA (DK: $7.0K, FD: $5.7K)

There's been a sharp reduction in NaLyssa Smith's minutes over the past two games, which has been to the benefit of Temi Fagbenle, whose athleticism makes her a good fit with what this team wants to do on both ends of the floor. Aliyah Boston is a great defensive center, but she's struggled at times to finish plays on offense this year, so the Fever needs someone like Fagbenle on the floor as much as possible to provide an offensive kick.

When the Fever played the Sparks a couple of games ago, Fagbenle posted big numbers, scoring 17 points on 6-for-12 shooting to go along with six rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block. She's blocked at least one shot in three consecutive games and has scored in double figures in three of the past four games.

WNBA DFS Picks: Guard

Kahleah Copper (Phoenix Mercury) at CON (DK: $10.3K, FD: $7.9K)

Kahleah Copper is making an early case for the MVP award this season, as she's averaging 29.2 points per game on 50.5% shooting and 48.6% shooting from three through Phoenix's first five games.

That includes three games with 30-plus points for Copper, including 32 points on 11-for-22 shooting in the team's most recent game against the Dallas Wings. She only pulled down one rebound in that game but has at least three boards in the team's other four contests. She's had multiple assists in four of the team's five games and has recorded a steal in three consecutive contests.

Marina Mabrey (Chicago Sky) vs. SEA (DK: $9.6K, FD: $7.5K)

The Sky were expected to be one of the WNBA's worst teams so far this season. Through the first four games, they're 2-2 on the year, which isn't great...but the team has a win over New York and just barely lost to Connecticut last time out. This might not be a playoff team, but it's a team that no one wants to play.

Marina Mabrey has been a big part of that, averaging 19.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game. Last time out against Connecticut, Mabrey scored 23 points on 8-for-18 shooting to go along with five rebounds, four assists, and one steal.

Aari McDonald (Los Angeles Sparks) at IND (DK: $4.3K, FD: $3.3K)

The Sparks don't have a lot of backcourt depth, so with Layshia Clarendon set to miss this game, the team pretty much has no choice but to ask Aari McDonald to play a lot of minutes on Tuesday night.

McDonald didn't play much over the first four games of the season, failing to hit double-digit minutes in any of those games. But she played nearly 20 minutes on Sunday against the Wings, scoring nine points on 4-for-10 shooting with three rebounds, one assist, and one block. Not great numbers, but it's worth noting Clarendon played seven minutes in that one before exiting. The Sparks are going to have to play McDonald 25 minutes or more on Tuesday because, without Clarendon, there's not really another option for those guard minutes.
