Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco impressed in his rookie season after being selected in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft. The Rutgers product rushed 170 times for 830 yards and five touchdowns during the regular season and scored a touchdown in the Super Bowl.
However, Pacheco battled through injuries for much of last season, so his status for training camp is up in the air. We have the latest update.

Will Isiah Pacheco Be Ready For Training Camp?
Pacheco (shoulder, hand) is hopeful to return mid-way through camp, according to Nate Taylor of The Athletic. Pacheco suffered a torn labrum and a broken bone in his hand this past season. He was able to play through the injuries but ultimately needed surgery after the season.
Pacheco is still recovering and is unlikely to be ready for the beginning of training camp. However, further updates will come out regarding his status, so be sure to stay in the loop.
Isiah Pacheco 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook
While Pacheco is an attractive fantasy asset thanks to the offense he plays in led by Patrick Mahomes, the return for Jerick McKinnon means he likely won't see an expanded role in the passing game. He caught just 13 passes and saw more than two targets just once in 17 games last season, so there's no reason to believe his receiving upside will be unlocked.
However, the fantasy football community knows this, so his ADP makes him affordable and worth drafting. In both standard and PPR formats, his ADP sits around the RB28 spot. Given the touchdown upside of Kansas City's offense, he's a solid bench running back or RB2 in wide receiver-heavy builds.
It'd be surprising if Pacheco reaches RB1 territory, but he could have a mid-level RB2 campaign as the Chiefs' primary runner.
