Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 13:
Caleb Williams, QB, Chicago Bears
Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is hoping to lead the Bears to their ninth win in their last 10 games when they face the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 13. Williams has ascended in his second season, completing 213 of 360 passes for 2568 yards, with 16 touchdowns and four interceptions in 11 games.
Williams has also improved his rushing production in 2025, totaling 293 yards and three touchdowns on 56 carries. The 2024 first-overall pick is averaging 19.7 fantasy points per game, which puts him on pace to finish as the QB8 in fantasy this season.
Philadelphia's pass defense has been middle of the pack this season, but has improved since acquiring Jaelan Phillips at the trade deadline. The key will be if Williams can play mistake-free football, as fantasy managers can feel comfortable starting him in Week 13.
Baker Mayfield, QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) was held out of the team's first practice of the week on Wednesday with a low-grade AC joint sprain in his left (non-throwing) shoulder, according to the Tampa Bay Times' Rick Stroud.
Mayfield was seen wearing a sling on his left arm in the second half of Sunday night's loss to the Los Angeles Rams, but he has a chance to play in Week 13 against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday if he can get back onto the practice field later this week. In the event that the 30-year-old veteran isn't ready to play, the Buccaneers are preparing veteran backup Teddy Bridgewater to start in practice this week. Mayfield's ability to play this weekend could be tied to pain management.
He's one of the toughest QBs in the league, so if it comes down to that, he'll probably be out there, but he'd be more of a high-end QB2 for fantasy football at likely less than 100%.
Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Miami Dolphins
Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is hopeful for better results after a few lackluster performances before the bye in Week 12. Tagovailoa has been held to 205 passing yards or fewer in three of his last four games.
Despite that, Tagovailoa did have a four-touchdown game during that span. The 27-year-old is an intriguing option heading into the Week 13 matchup against the New Orleans Saints.
The Dolphins should come into this game refreshed after the bye and will face off against an average pass defense. Fantasy managers in need of a possible streaming option might want to consider Tagovailoa who should offer at least QB2 value.
Tyrod Taylor, QB, New York Jets
New York Jets quarterback Tyrod Taylor performed well in his second start of the season in Week 12 against the Baltimore Ravens, completing 17 of 28 pass attempts for 222 yards, one touchdown, and one interception while adding five carries for 19 yards. Taylor performed well enough against his former team to remain the Jets starter moving forward.
His 7.9 yards per attempt ranked eighth among quarterbacks, and his 71.3 QBR was the fifth-best mark in Week 12. The 36-year-old was a noticeable improvement over Fields for at least this game, with one of their trade deadline acquisitions, John Metchie III, posting a career high six catches for 65 yards and a touchdown.
Still, the ceiling isn't high for Taylor in fantasy, and he's best viewed as a QB2/QB3 for Week 13 against the Atlanta Falcons.
Jalen Hurts, QB, Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts' Week 12 game against the Cowboys was the second time this season he's had multiple rushing touchdowns in a single game-the other being in Week 1 against the Cowboys. He could resort to using his legs some more in his upcoming meeting with the Bears on Friday, as Chicago allows the fifth-most rushing yards per game this season (138.1).
The Bears are also tied for the third-most passing touchdowns allowed, giving up 22 in 11 contests. Hurts may be without star receiver DeVonta Smith (shoulder/chest/illness) this week, but he tends to spread the ball around anyway.
In an effort to bounce back from the recent loss and with the high stakes of being up against a top threat in the NFC, Hurts should be on his A-game in this favorable matchup. He's a high-end QB1 in Week 13.
