Payton Tolle Prospect Update for Fantasy Baseball
Since surrendering four runs in his Triple-A season debut on March 29, Tolle has quickly rounded into form and is looking like one of the most dominant pitchers in the minor leagues. Over his last two outings, the hard-throwing southpaw has logged 11 innings of two-run ball (one earned) with just seven hits allowed, two walks, and an impressive 13 punchouts.
In his most recent start, Tolle tossed five shutout frames with six of these punchouts.
The Red Sox moved Tolle through the minor leagues very quickly last season, which allowed him to earn a short taste of the majors late in the second half. While he struggled during that short stint, which ultimately led to his move to Triple-A to open the 2026 season, the former TCU standout is flashing elite upside and showing he is more than capable of returning to the big leagues.
Nice outing for Payton Tolle today.

Payton Tolle Outlook for Fantasy Baseball
Tolle made his professional debut at the start of the 2025 season and showed minimal growing pains as he moved through the Boston system. Tolle began with High-A, where he logged 49 2/3 innings to the tune of a 3.62 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP. During this stint, Tolle struck out 79 batters. He was then bumped up to Double-A, where he was even sharper, striking out 37 hitters while carrying a 16.7 ERA over 27 innings.
The southpaw then debuted at Triple-A Worcester, where he needed just three starts before earning the green light of debut in Boston. While he has allowed 11 earned runs over his 16 1/3 MLB innings, the 23-year-old has looked very comfortable at Triple-A this season and should bounce back in his second look,
While the Red Sox rotation appears to be full at the moment, Tolle is one injury away from becoming a fantasy mainstay due to his high-end strikeout upside. He is worth stashing in all 12-team leagues ahead of Week 4.
