Week 11 Fantasy Football Fallers: The Bengals Offense, Alshon Jeffery, Emmanuel Sanders & More

In Week 11 we really only saw Julian Edelman (foot) go down to serious injury, though the Peyton Manning (plantar fasciitis) news is pretty noteworthy, however if anything it just sets Manning owners free from the temptation of playing him. Sam Bradford hurt his shoulder and was concussed, though the latest reports have him just missing this upcoming week. Fellow Eagle Ryan Mathews also was concussed in the third quarter and he'll have to be watched over. Edelman is lost for the fantasy football season. The others take a hit as they miss Week 11 action or more. Keep tabs on their situations.

There were a lot of "dud" performances in Week 11 outside of the injuries, so let's take a look in at some of them.

Week 11 Fantasy Football Fallers

The Whole Bengals Offense Sans Gio Bernard

Okay, that whole unit deserves to be put on blast really. This wasn't a divisional game, though it sure played out like one (looking at you, Detroit-Green Bay), with neither offense really doing anything all game. Andy Dalton struggled mightily, missing some throws that he has been making all year. Jeremy Hill failed to get anything going, rushing for 15 yards on seven carries. This follows up a lackluster effort from Hill the week before against the Browns as well. He is very difficult to trust for any semblance of production, yet he is still owned in 91% of leagues. That's a lot of disappointment out there.

A.J. Green hasn't been a WR1 for owners most weeks either. His fumble last night also sealed the Bengals' fate. In their past six games, Green has only surpassed 10 points once. That's not what people drafted him to do. Tyler Eifert bought a long leash with his three-touchdown effort from the week before, but boy his drops on Monday night murdered the Bengals' hopes again and again. You're not excessively worried about Eifert, but it was still a really bad showing from him. The one guy who I think looked good and doesn't deserve to be lumped in here is Giovani Bernard.

Darren McFadden – RB, DAL

Yes, Tampa Bay's defense is actually not as bad as advertised when it comes to the run. Yes, Matt Cassel was under center. But it doesn't excuse a rather poor performance from Dallas' running game. This is an elite offensive line and a running back who has showed great vision and explosiveness since he was given the reins to the Cowboys' backfield. What happened on Sunday was disgusting (from both teams really, it was a difficult game to watch), with McFadden only gaining 32 yards on 17 carries. Now here is an instance where I think everyone who still has the option to trade in their league should pound the McFadden owner with offers. Capitalize on the narrative that Tampa's defense is terrible, try to shake them a bit, and get McFadden now that Tony Romo is coming back. McFadden's stock took a bit of a ding on Sunday, and hopefully it cracks the door open just enough for savvy owners to grab him. If you own him, do not fret one bit. Also, Christine Michael was just waived, if anyone was still worried about his presence.

Alshon Jeffery – WR, CHI

The Rams defense has been very good at defending opponent's #1 receivers, giving up an average of 43 yards per game coming into this contest. Couple this with an injury that had the Bears a little worried going into the game, and you've got a recipe for mediocrity. While Jeremy Langford and Zach Miller stole the show, Alshon Jeffery put up a dud. Chicago gets Denver next, so Jeffery is going to need to be 100% if he is to beat Chris Harris Jr. and Aqib Talib on the outside for a healthy amount of points. You can't really sit Alshon, but you can worry a little. Since his return he had played as though he was matchup proof, and while you can't really knock him too much, you can't ignore this. Week 11 may not bring sunshine either, but from Week 12 on he has great matchups with the Packers, 49ers, Redskins, Vikings, and Buccaneers. Juicy. If you don't have trade deadlines that have passed, buy.

Emmanuel Sanders (DEN), John Brown (ARI), James Jones (GB), Willie Snead (NO) - WRs

What do all of these names have in common? They each put up zero points this week.

Sanders saw four targets, Brown saw three, Jones two, and Snead just one. Sanders was dealing with Peyton Manning's historically awful day and was off the field for the rest of the game after taking a big shot in the third quarter (thanks to Peyton throwing too high). Brown just took a backseat to Michael Floyd and Larry Fitzgerald who both saw double digit targets. James Jones and the Packers struggled to get anything going against the Lions, and Jones is heavily dependent on getting those red zone targets. Snead barely saw the ball come his way even though the Saints were behind for most of the game. Discouraging efforts all around, though some were clearly more excusable than others. Outside of Sanders though, these qualify as pretty frightening shocks for owners.

Jimmy Graham - TE, SEA

Watching the game between the Seahawks and Cardinals was quite the roller coaster ride, and within that ride were a few turns where Graham had a chance to make a play and simply did not. He had key drops, one of which would have been for a touchdown. Yes the ball was defended a bit, but he had others that were uncontested that he just put on the field. He saw eight targets overall and only caught three of them. For Jimmy, the opportunities clearly are not coming as frequently as he would like. This means that when you do get the ball thrown your way, you've got to make the play. This continues the downward trend for Graham and the Seattle offense as a whole.

Other Fallers to Note: C.J. Anderson (RB, DEN), Isaiah Crowell (RB, CLE), Pierre Garcon (WR, WAS), Martellus Bennett (TE, CHI), Julius Thomas (TE, JAC)
