Waiver Wire Pickups, Adds and Sleepers for Fantasy Hockey (Week 19)

What's up RotoBallers? Welcome to my week 19 edition of the fantasy hockey waiver wire. Below are a few skaters at each position that will steer your fantasy hockey team toward a championship.

Whether your fantasy hockey team is dealing with injuries or lack of production, these NHL players will help you get back on track. These players can be considered waiver wire pickups or sleepers depending on the league format.

Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire - Forwards

Anders Lee (F, NYI) - 28% Owned

The Islanders are leading the Metropolitan Division and have been getting contributions across the board. The latest point producer has been Anders Lee. Lee is skating on the Isles' top line with John Tavares and has eight points in his last five games. Going back to January 10th, he has 15 points in 16 games. The points should continue to stack up as long as Lee remains on that number one line.

Tyler Toffoli (F, LA) - 59% Owned

Since returning from an illness, Tyler Toffoli has picked up right where he left off. The young forward has seven points in his last five games, including a four point effort against the Flames last week. Toffoli has 18 G, 18 A, 18 PIM, 130 SOG and a +19 rating in 50 games this season. His average ice-time, hovering around 14:00 minutes, is his lone downfall. Toffoli is a solid option going forward as the Kings look to make their playoff push.

Cam Atkinson (F, CLS) - 16% Owned

The scoring has come in bunches for Cam Atkinson this season and he currently has the hot hand. He has five points in his last five games and eight in his last nine. Atkinson has been plagued by scoring droughts this season but fantasy owners may want to add him as long as this recent surge plays out.

Blake Comeau (F, PIT) - 18% Owned

In his first action since suffering an upper-body injury in December, Blake Comeau has three points in three games played. He should find himself in a top-six role for the remainder of the season on an already talented offensive squad. Comeau has 12 G, 10 A, 30 PIM and a +7 rating in 35 games this season. His offensive upside and skilled teammates create an ideal fantasy situation going forward.

Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire - Defensemen

Travis Hamonic (D, NYI) - 34% Owned

Travis Hamonic was on my waiver wire list last week, but he is worth mentioning again. He has been one of the most productive defensemen over the last two weeks. Hamonic has eight assists over his last eight games. He is sporting a +12 rating and has racked up 73 PIM minutes on the year. Despite spending a lot of time in the penalty box, Hamonic is still averaging over 21:30 minutes per game. There aren't many holes in his game right now.

Kevin Klein (D, NYR) - 15% Owned

Kevin Klein has already posted a new career high with 25 points so far this season and he is showing no signs of slowing down. He has points in five straight contests and eight points in his last seven games. Klein is a plus +22 in 54 games and is currently playing his best hockey of the season, and maybe his career.

Tyler Myers (D, WPG) - 25% Owned

The recent trade to Winnipeg appears to be a good fit for Tyler Myers. In three games with the Jets, Myers has three points and eight shots on goal. He has averaged over 22:00 minutes of ice-time in those three contests. He has 63 PIM in 50 games and his -15 rating will almost certainly be on the rise. Myers is an excellent blue line option for the rest of the year.

Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire - Goaltenders

Cam Talbot (G, NYR) - 37% Owned

They haven't all been pretty, but Cam Talbot has rattled off four straight wins in Henrik Lundqvist's absence. It looks as though Lundqvist will be out for at least a few more weeks and Talbot will continue to see the majority of the starts. His save percentage and goals against average may not be top notch, but he is a decent option for wins as long as Lunqvist remains on injured reserve.

Curtis McElhinney (G, CLS) - 15% Owned

Similar to the Rangers situation, the Blue Jackets are without starter Sergei Bobrovsky for at least another week or so. Curtis McElhinney is getting the lion's share of the goaltending duties in Columbus and has played well enough to pick up three wins in his last four starts. He is a serviceable fantasy option until Bobrovsky returns.
