ANALYSIS: The Indianapolis Colts selected top tight end prospect Tyler Warren out of Penn State with the 14th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Warren was widely regarded as one of the top prospects in the draft class and is expected to make a significant impact in his debut campaign.
In 2024, Warren had a career year at Penn State, leading the Big Ten in receptions (104) and posting an impressive 1,233 receiving yards. He also found the back of the end zone 12 times (eight times through the air) and finished seventh in Heisman voting.
Throughout the preseason, Warren has already begun to flash this upside on the professional level. During his preseason debut, Warren brought in three receptions for 40 yards. Then, he caught a 25-yard reception in his contest against the Green Bay Packers.
More importantly, the Colts named Daniel Jones as their QB1, which should significantly raise Warren's fantasy value, as Anthony Richardson Sr. has struggled to produce at the NFL level, especially in terms of accuracy.
Even though Warren will face some target competition with Josh Downs and Michael Pittman Jr. lined up on the outside, given his immense potential in college, Warren carries solid TE1 upside in their Week 1 matchup against the Miami Dolphins.
