Top Hitters to Stream in Week 24 for the Fantasy Baseball Playoffs

Below are my top MLB hitter streamer options for Week 24 of fantasy baseball. All players listed here are 50% owned or less in Yahoo leagues and play seven games this week. Playoffs are underway in the fantasy baseball season and these players can all help you get a leg up on the competition this week.

Streaming hitters is a great way to increase production and fantasy stats off the waiver wire for your head-to-head matchups. It can also help to mitigate the damage done by underperformers. Check back weekly for my favorite hitter streamers for the upcoming week.

Editor’s Note: RotoBaller’s fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups list is updated every single day. Our awesome writers bring you analysis on hot or emerging starting pitchers, and also all other fantasy positions. You can also download our waiver wire iPhone app for free, and easily stay updated.

Top Hitter Streamers for Week 24: Fantasy Baseball Playoffs Edition

1. Jayson Werth, OF, Nationals

(3 @ PHI, 4 vs MIA) – 46% owned

After battling injuries that limited Werth to only 31 games through July, he appears finally to be healthy, having played 28 games in August and 11 so far in September. The last three years, Werth has hit .300, .318, and .292. Despite playing in only 357 games over those two years, he slugged 46 homers with 27 steals. Despite starting the season slowly with injuries, Werth had a .720 OPS in August and a .840 OPS so far this month. Facing favorable pitching matchups, Werth is this week's number one streaming option.

2. Kevin Kiermaier, OF, Rays

(3 vs NYY, 4 vs BAL) 9% owned

Kiermaier is one of the best defenders in baseball, which is useful for fantasy purposes because it keeps him in the lineup more than he otherwise would be for the platoon-happy Rays. He is not a sexy fantasy choice regularly, hitting just .265 on the year with 8 homers. However, he also has 16 steals. In August, he hit .326 with 5 steals and 3 homers. This month, he is hitting .321. He has an OPS nearly .200 higher vs RHP, and will be facing five this week. With favorable pitching matchups, he is this week's number two streaming option.

3. Mark Canha, 1B/OF, Athletics

(4 @ CWS, 3 @ HOU) – 26% owned

Canha is hitting .255 on the year with 15 homers and 7 steals in only 105 games. In August, he hit .309 with 3 homers. This month, he has already hit 4 homers. He had a .865 OPS in August and a .878 OPS so far this month. With good numbers for the amount of games he has played, Canha is this week's number three streaming option.

4. Brett Lawrie, 2B/3B, Athletics

(4 @ CWS, 3 @ HOU) – 50% owned

Lawrie is hitting .270 on the year with 15 homers and 5 steals, which are acceptable numbers for a player eligible at second base. This week he plays 7 games on the road, where he is hitting .289 with 9 of his homers. While his pitching matchups are not exceptional, the fact that he plays seven games in hitters' parks, that he hits well on the road, and that he has been decent overall all combine to make him the number four streaming option this week.

5. Rougned Odor, 2B, Rangers

(4 vs HOU, 3 vs SEA) – 44% owned

Despite being just 21 years old, Odor has hit .270 with 12 homers and 5 steals in under 100 games. After struggling early, Odor has really turned it on. He hit .391 in June, .319 in July, and .310 in August. While he has only hit .206 this month with one homer, he was recovering from a finger injury. The farther removed he becomes from the injury, one would expect the numbers to improve. Thus, despite tough pitching matchups, he is this weeks number five streaming option.
