NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 11/25/22

After a nice relaxing Thanksgiving – hopefully everyone had a good day and safe travels –, we are back with a 7-game slate with a few prime matchups. There will not be any teams playing on a back-to-back. The currently live top-3 highest implied team totals are: Vegas with 3.9, Tampa with 3.8 and New Jersey with 3.7 goals. I will do my best in guiding you through this seven-game slate on DraftKings and FanDuel starting at 7:00 p.m. EST.

DISCLOSURE: Make sure to monitor the news feed and play at your own risk

Vegas Odds for the Day

NHL DFS Goalies

Ilya Sorokin- DK $8.4K || FD $8.8K

Opponent - Columbus Blue Jackets

Sorokin is the perfect candidate for tonight’s contests. The Islanders give up some of the most shots per game in the league – 33.55 –. However, they only give up the sixth-least goals per game – 2.61 –, giving the opportunity for Sorokin to have an ideal ceiling game. Keep in mind that the Jackets are down a few players, including their power-play quarterback’s: Zach Werenski, Jake Bean and Adam Boqvist as well.

Others To Consider (Cash/GPP): Vasilevskiy (DK $8K || FD $8K), Oettinger (DK $7.9K || FD $8.5K)

NHL DFS Centers

Dylan Larkin-DK $7.5K || FD $8.7K

Opponent - Arizona Coyotes

Larkin looks like he may finally have a solidified line with newcomers Dominik Kubalik and David Perron joining the flanks. The centerman has 3 goals, 4 assists, 22 shots and 4 blocked shots over his last five appearances. With his most recent outing, producing 1 goal and 6 shots. The Coyotes give up the third-most shots against per game – 35.21  –, the most scoring chances against per game – 36.2  – and the fifth-most goals against per game – 3.37 –. The Red Wings play a high-octane game and Larkin should be able to hit his value and more.

Brock Nelson- DK $5.3K || FD $7.8K

Opponent - Columbus Blue Jackets

Nelson continues to carry the majority of the offense for the hapless Islanders, producing 1 goal, 2 assists, 11 shots and 5 blocked shots in his last five games. The Blue Jackets currently give up the most goals per game – 4.24 –. They also give up ample shots against per game as well as scoring chances against. Currently the Blue Jackets are running a young lineup with inexperience and lack of a physical presence. This will only give Nelson and his winger Anders Lee more of an advantage leading the way for an Islanders win.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Hughes (DK 7.9K || FD $8.9K), Lizotte (DK $2.9K || FD $4K)

NHL DFS Wings

Kevin Fiala- DK $5.6K || FD $7K

Opponent - San Jose Sharks

Fiala looks like he is being reunited with centerman Anze Kopitar for an extended period of time and he did not look out of sorts in his first game back with him, posting 1 goal, 2 assists, 3 shots and 1 blocked shot. Fiala is known for his shoot first mentality – something that is lacking on the Kings’ first line – and it is expected that he will see the puck as much as he possibly can. With the majority of his 21 points coming from playing in the top six, Fiala should start to produce tenfold again playing with an experienced playmaker.

Anders Lee- DK $5.2K || FD $7.4K

Opponent - Columbus Blue Jackets

It is quite surprising that Lee is priced where he is, having such a prime matchup tonight. The winger has 4 assists, 13 shots and 3 blocked shots in his last five games. Aforementioned, the winger will have an advantage playing against the Blue Jackets who lack a physical presence. Lee should garner plenty of ownership along with his centerman Brock Nelson.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Kubalik (DK $6.3K || FD $7.7K), Tarasenko (DK $6K || FD $6.3K)

NHL DFS Defensemen

Sean Walker- DK $3K || FD $3.9K

Opponent - San Jose Sharks

Walker is in line for an extended look on the power-play unit with teammate Sean Durzi out for the time-being. In Walker’s first game with the added responsibility, he had 1 goal, 1 shot and 2 blocked shots. Sean Walker has been the subject of trade chatter recently with his role diminishing and younger talent waiting for their chance to make the team on a permanent basis. However, the Kings are still willing to give Walker another chance and this is the best opportunity he has to prove he still provides value for the Kings.

Mikhail Sergachev- DK $6.7K || FD $7.5K

Opponent - St Louis Blues

The Blues continue to struggle with keeping goals out of their net and Sergachev looks to have locked down the top power-play unit for the Lightning. Over his last five appearances he has 2 goals, 6 assists, 7 shots and 9 blocked shots. Furthermore, his last game was the first time in five games that he did not post double-digit fantasy points. Thanks to the struggling Blues defense and goaltending, Sergachev should be a solid option to stream at defense tonight.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Karlsson (DK $8.5K || FD $8.9K), Dobson (DK $6.1K || FD $7.3K)
