ANALYSIS: Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Sterling Shepard (hamstring) was targeted just five times in Week 8 against the Atlanta Falcons, catching three passes for 18 yards. It was meager production in a game in which he was expected to have a prominent role with the absences of Chris Godwin (ankle) and Mike Evans (hamstring).
Both Jalen McMillan & Sterling Shepard will be huge adds, but when adding them remember:
•McMillian’s role MAY not expand as much, as we hope
•Shepard, he will step directly into Godwin’s role.
Also wouldn’t be suprised if the Bucs bring in a WR if Evans misses extent… pic.twitter.com/vKwZaifRsF

Despite taking over the Godwin role as the primary slot receiver, he didn't produce much for fantasy managers. It's important that he exited the game and missed part of the contest with a hamstring injury he picked up, but eventually returned. It's possible the ailment bothered him and hurt his production.
He's worth an add in deeper leagues due to the role he now occupies, but it's reasonable to question his talent. He hasn't been a factor in fantasy outside of one year, 2018, where he finished in the top 30 wide receivers in full-PPR scoring. He's now 31 years old. It may be tough to trust him to consistently win moving forward, but he can be stashed on the bench.
