ANALYSIS: A suggested pickup for this week is Ricky Pearsall of the San Francisco 49ers. Earlier this season, Pearsall endured a scary incident in San Francisco's Union Square, where he was shot during an attempted robbery.
A 17-year-old suspect tried to steal Pearsall's Rolex watch, and the rookie took a bullet to the chest. Fortunately, the bullet exited his back without hitting any vital organs, letting him recover and return to the field.
Selected 31st overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, Pearsall has stepped up as the 49ers' offense contends with injuries, notably to wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.

Pearsall's recent performance against the Dallas Cowboys—four catches for 38 yards and a 39-yard run—shows his increasing role within the offense. His chemistry with quarterback Brock Purdy is also increasing.
With the 49ers on a Week 9 bye, Pearsall might be dropped in some leagues, making him an ideal waiver target.
The young wideout faces the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 10, a team that has given up the sixth-most fantasy points to wide receivers, setting him up as a solid WR2 or flex option in upcoming matchups.
