Ricky Pearsall fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 1 (2025). Should you start or sit Ricky Pearsall for fantasy football lineups in Week 1?
BALLER MOVE: Start in 10+ team leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: High upside WR3
ANALYSIS: San Francisco wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was not on the field much during his debut season in 2024, but showed immense upside when he eventually made his debut. Pearsall did not make his season debut until Week 7 as he was recovering from a gunshot wound.
During his first three NFL games (Weeks 7 through 10, excluding his Week 9 bye), Pearsall averaged 44.0 yards per game with an eye-catching 17.4 PPR points per game. During this stint, Pearsall saw 5.0 targets per game and scored one touchdown.
After catching just six passes from Weeks 11 through 16, Pearsall would then enjoy an impressive conclusion to the campaign in Weeks 17 through 18. During his final two games of the campaign, the Florida product averaged a strong 105.0 yards per game with 23.8 PPR points per game.
With Deebo Samuel Sr. now in Washington and Brandon Aiyuk (knee) slated to miss at least the first month of the season, Pearsall has a path to open the campaign in a starting role. In addition, wideout Jauan Jennings is dealing with a calf injury and could potentially be in danger of missing the start of the season.
Given his potential to slot in as the team's No. 2 pass catcher alongside star tight end George Kittle, Pearsall carries high-end WR3 upside facing the Seattle Seahawks. If Jennings were to miss this game, Pearsall would enter WR2 must-start status.
