BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 50% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Whenever some sort of committee pops up in an NFL backfield, fantasy managers lose sleep over it. It happens to the best of us. And it is happening in Miami with the duo of Raheem Mostert and Chase Edmonds sharing duties over the first four games of the season. That said, things are starting to solidify a bit with a clear getting clearer by the week: Mostert is the man to roster and start between these two.
Of course, you might think that I'm lying to you by saying that. At the end of the day, Edmonds has put up a total of 41.3 PPR points compared to Mostert's tally of 26.3 in four weeks of play. And if you look at his snaps, they're fairly balanced with Edmonds getting 93 and Mostert 88. So, what gives? The devil is in (trendy) details.
Edmonds has gone from appearing in 63% of the Dolphins' Week 1 total snaps to only 51%, 44%, and lastly 28% (!) last TNF. Mostert, on the other hand, has gone from doing so in 42% to 55%, then 56%, and finally 72% (!) this past Thursday. The change is obvious. The results are too, with Mostert barely outperforming Edmonds against the Bengals 10.1 PPR to 10.0 but most importantly getting the bulk of the workload.
Mostert has carried the rock at least eight times in each of the past three games (11, 8, and 15 rushing attempts) while getting eight total targets. Edmonds has carried the ball 16 times in total over that same span and he's gotten just seven targets.
The only thing separating Edmonds and Mostert in the PPR leaderboard is, basically, the three touchdowns to none in favor of the former. Mostert is getting more goal-line touches each passing week too so it's just a matter of time before things reverse and start looking better for Mostert. Land him in your roster when he's still available in half of Yahoo leagues. He'll be well worth the pick.
