5 years agoChicago Cubs catcher Willson Contreras (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Cubs were eliminated from postseason contention on Wednesday. Most of the regulars are out of the lineup here, so it's not surprising to see Contreras getting the day off. Jonathan Lucroy will draw the start behind the plate and bat fifth versus righty Joe Musgrove. Lucroy doesn't have much upside with the bat right now, so he can be ignored.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
