White Sox Looking At Zack Wheeler
5 years agoThe Chicago White Sox are in the market for a starting pitcher and have set their sights on starting pitcher Zack Wheeler. The ChiSox just made a big splash on Thursday by signing the best catcher on the market in Yasmani Grandal for four years, so now they'll look to bolster their rotation with one of the top available arms on the pitching market. Wheeler is coming off a 2019 season where he went 11-8 with a 3.96 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 195 strikeouts in 195 1/3 innings over 31 starts for the Mets. The 29-year-old right-hander has potential to be even better if he can keep his walks down like he did last season (2.3 BB/9). However, Chicago's home ballpark isn't that friendly to pitchers.
