White Sox Acquire Nomar Mazara
5 years agoThe Chicago White Sox acquired outfielder Nomar Mazara from the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night in exchange for minor league outfielder Steele Walker. The 24-year-old Mazara hit .268 with 19 home runs, 66 RBI and a .786 OPS in 2019. He projects to make around $5.5 million in arbitration and is eligible for free agency after the 2021 season. Mazara can contribute across the board modestly for fantasy owners and will head to another ballpark that favors hitters. He's not the sexiest fantasy pick, but don't overlook him in the middle rounds. Walker was a second-round pick in 2018 and hit .284 with 10 homers and 62 RBI with two Single-A teams last year. He's already listed as Texas' No. 12 prospect, per MLB Pipeline.
