The Washington Capitals and Carolina Hurricanes exploded for 10 goals on Saturday night. Forward Warren Foegele scored two goals and added an assist for Carolina. With 19 points in 39 games, the second-year player has already surpassed his total from his first season (15 points in 77 games). He now has seven points in the last seven games and could be a player to watch in the second half of the year if he starts to receive more ice time. Forward Lucas Wallmark also scored a goal. In just his second full season, he’s on pace to best his 28-point mark from 2018-19 and has been playing better lately with eight points in six games. Martin Necas’ breakout rookie season continued with a goal that gave him three in the last three games. He now has nine goals and 22 points in 34 games. Ryan Dzingel had two assists and now has four helpers in three games. Washington defender John Carlson had two assists and has five points in five games.
