Vikings Could Ramp Up Contract Talks With Dalvin Cook
5 years agoThe Minnesota Vikings have had some extension talks with running back Dalvin Cook, who is entering the final season of his rookie deal, but sources expect those talks to heat up after the team gets through free agency. The former second-round pick in 2017 just recorded his first 1,000-yard season on the ground with a career-high 13 touchdowns on 250 carries (4.5 yards per tote). He also added 53 catches for 519 yards. Without Stefon Diggs now in Buffalo, Minnesota's offense just became even more reliant on Cook out of the backfield. There are injury concerns -- he hasn't played a full season yet in three years -- but Cook has high-end RB1 potential when healthy.
