The Major League Baseball Players Association has turned down the latest MLB proposal for the universal designated hitter and an expanded playoff format, according to sources. The union doesn't want to talk about a trade of the universal DH in return for expanded playoffs. The universal DH and expanded playoff format were implemented during the shortened 2020 season due to COVID-19. The working relationship between the two sides remains tense, with negotiations over the shortened 2020 season and players' compensation dragging out over many weeks. The Collective Bargaining Agreement is also set to expire in December of this year.--Keith HernandezRead More News
