Tyrone Taylor Getting A Breather
Tyrone Taylor is out of the team's starting lineup for Monday's series opener against the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates at Citi Field. Jeff McNeil is starting in center field and is batting sixth against Pirates right-hander Paul Skenes. Taylor will get a day of rest after starting in each of the team's last seven games. The 31-year-old veteran has been the Mets' preferred option in center field this year, but he's offered fantasy managers in NL-only leagues very little with one home run, six RBI, 15 runs scored and three steals while batting .241 (26-for-108). In 10 games so far in May, he's gone 8-for-27 (.296) with two doubles, a triple, a steal and six runs scored. After getting a late start to 2025 due to injury, McNeil has gone 9-for-39 with two homers, six RBI and four runs for the Mets. Although he has a homer in three career at-bats against Skenes, he'll be a fade in DFS on Monday.
