1 year agoSt. Louis Cardinals outfielder Tyler O'Neill (knee) is experiencing some knee discomfort and is unavailable to play in Wednesday's series finale against the San Diego Padres. Richie Palacios will get the start in left field and is hitting eighth against Padres left-hander Rich Hill. O'Neill's frustrating 2023 campaign continues, and he's been dealing with knee issues for most of the month of August. For now, consider the 28-year-old to be day-to-day. Hopefully another day off on Thursday will allow him to return to the lineup for the series opener on Friday against the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates. O'Neill has managed to play in only 61 games in 2023 and is hitting .231 (46-for-199) with seven home runs, 16 RBI, four stolen bases and 23 runs scored in 224 trips to the plate.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
