Tyler Glasnow To Face Live Hitters Monday
2 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow (oblique) will face batters on Monday and will throw two "innings," according to manager Kevin Cash. Glasnow began the 2023 season on the injured list with a strained oblique suffered early in spring training, but he's making strides and is tracking towards a mid-May return. Meanwhile, reliever Shawn Armstrong (neck), has started throwing off the mound. Reliever Andrew Kittredge (elbow), who had Tommy John surgery last June, and right-hander Shane Baz (elbow), who also had Tommy John surgery, are "a ways away, but are doing well." Kittredge could return later this year, but Baz isn't expected to return until 2024. Glasnow can be a fantasy ace when he's healthy, so he needs to be stashed in all fantasy leagues.
