Tyler Beede Diagnosed With UCL Sprain
5 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Tyler Beede (elbow) underwent an MRI exam on Tuesday night and was diagnosed with a flexor strain and a UCL sprain in his right elbow. The Giants are gathering second opinions and will have more information on his diagnosis later this week. The right-hander doesn't think he'll need surgery, but we'll have to wait for what the team says. It's bad news for Beede and anyone that was planning to grab him late in deep mixed or NL-only leagues, as he's likely to miss the start of the season now. Logan Webb could benefit by winning the No. 5 rotation spot out of spring, but he'd only be an NL-only flier.
