Tyler Allgeier 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook: To Retain Backup RB Role For Falcons
Tyler Allgeier, despite his very solid rookie season in 2022, should retain his backup role in 2024, barring anything catastrophic. Atlanta spent a premium draft pick on running back Bijan Robinson in the 2023 NFL Draft, and he was one of the most heavily utilized running backs in the NFL last season. Given Robinson's excellent suite of skills, proven production, and versatility in both the running and receiving games, there's no reason to think he won't be the workhorse back for the Falcons offense in 2025. That leaves Allgeier without much of a role, and he's definitely not fantasy relevant this season, except as a handcuff. But the upside he possesses, in case of a Robinson injury, is enough that he warrants stash consideration in quite a few leagues. Should Robinson get hurt and miss time, Allgeier is likely to be the team's workhorse in lieu.
