Twins Option Bailey Ober To Triple-A
1 year agoThe Minnesota Twins optioned right-hander Bailey Ober to Triple-A St. Paul in a surprising move on Monday and selected the contract of left-handed reliever Kody Funderburk from the minors in a corresponding move. The team also moved pitcher Oliver Ortega (back) to the 60-day injured list. Ober got the boot to the minors after allowing 22 runs (21 earned) on 39 hits (eight home runs) while walking eight and striking out 30 in 28 innings over his last six starts since July 29. With rosters expanding in September, the 28-year-old might not be away from the Twins for long, and he's had a nice season overall in 2023 with a 3.67 ERA (4.11 FIP), 1.13 WHIP, 26 walks and 120 K's in 122 2/3 frames over his 22 starts in his third big-league season.
