Tua Tagovailoa 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook: Big Risk for Decent Reward
Tua Tagovailoa had turned a corner regarding his health and on-field production. Unfortunately, he fell back to Earth in 2024, missing six games and suffering a decline in performance. In 11 games, Tagovailoa completed a career-best 72.9% of his passes for 2,867 yards, 19 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, finishing as the fantasy QB21. While Tagovailoa is a very accurate passer and throws with reasonable anticipation, his unspectacular arm strength makes him a liability when throwing deep or over the middle. His injury history also limits his rushing upside significantly. In 2024 alone, Tagovailoa had two concussions and a hip injury, both of which are issues that have haunted him in the past. He's had at least four confirmed concussions in his football career, the first of which occurred in his final year at Alabama. While Mike McDaniel's offense is excellent and the Dolphins are loaded with weapons, one more serious head injury could spell the end of Tagovailoa's career. His health makes him a late-round dart-throw at the QB position as RotoBaller's fantasy QB18 for 2025.
