Tom Hoge was thought to be a solid under-the-radar option at the Sony Open. Instead, Hoge faded in the later rounds as the American golfer finished tied for 45th. The second round was his undoing with a 71, and back-to-back 69s were not enough. Hoge managed to finished inside the top 10 at The Sentry, however. Also, Hoge ended up T17 at last year's American Express, highlighted by consecutive rounds of 65. Hoge is not very proficient off the tee and ranked 150th last year in strokes gained at minus-1.032. Hoge only drives the ball at 292 yards and typically gets into the fairway 58-59% of the time. He can make birdies, though. Hoge averaged 4.63 per round, which ranked 50th in 2024. That makes him a long shot this week.--Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
