Three Teams Discussing Joey Gallo
3 years agoThe Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees and San Diego Padres have had trade talks with the Texas Rangers regarding outfielder Joey Gallo, according to sources. Gallo's 24 home runs this year are more than all of New York's left-handed hitters combined (22). The Padres might be more of a long shot to land Gallo now, after acquiring infielder Adam Frazier over the weekend. The 27-year-old left-handed slugger is just 2-for-30 (.067) with 16 strikeouts and no home runs in the last 14 days, but despite his low average (.222 on the season), Gallo has 24 home runs, 52 RBI, six stolen bases and a .380 on-base percentage in 384 plate appearances. His elite power will become more attractive if he lands with a contender at the trade deadline.
