Taylor Montgomery finished tied for 65th at last week's Sony Open, where he gained over 0.5 strokes on approach. However, he lost 0.46 strokes putting, and he will need to improve his performance on the greens if he hopes to compete at this week's American Express in Palm Springs, California. This will be Montgomery's third appearance at the American Express, and he has played well in his previous appearances, finishing 61st in 2024 and fifth in 2023. It's important to note that over the past 12 months, Montgomery ranks in the fourth percentile for proximity to the hole on approach shots from 150-200 yards. This is significant because more than 33% of approach shots in last year's event came from this distance. While Montgomery could be a valuable addition to DFS lineups this week, including him does come with some risk.--Ian Christenson - RotoBaller
