The Tampa Bay Lightning have won the 2020 Stanley Cup as they defeated the Dallas Stars by a score of 2-0 in Game 6 on Tuesday night. Lightning forwards Brayden Point and Blake Coleman each scored a goal in the contest, while goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy posted a 22-save shutout, his first of the Playoffs, to help the team win their second Stanley Cup in franchise history — following their 2004 championship. Lightning defenseman Victor Hedman was named the winner of the Conn Smythe Trophy, voted as the most valuable player of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Hedman totaled 10 goals and 22 points through 25 games to become the third defenseman in NHL history to score 10+ goals in a postseason. The team had several key contributors to go along with Hedman, including Brayden Point's 14 goals scored during the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs, while Nikita Kucherov recorded 34 points (seven goals, 27 assists) through 25 games. Congratulations to the Tampa Bay Lightning on their 2020 Stanley Cup victory, in a historic season that began almost one full year ago and included challenges that not a single team had previously faced.--Denis Vondrus - RotoBallerRead More News
