Tampa Bay Lightning center Steven Stamkos (lower body) will not play in the final two games of the regular season. He aggravated a lower-body injury during a game on April 1 and has not played since in the hopes that the rest will let him fully recover before the start of the playoffs. Stamkos finishes the season with his highest point total (86) since the 2011-2012 season but only scored 27 goals in 78 games, which is his lowest goals-per-game pace (0.35 goals per game) since his rookie season. Playing alongside Nikita Kucherov, the 28-year-old Stamkos may be transitioning to more of a playmaking role, as demonstrated by his career-high 59 assists this season. Stamkos will remain an elite fantasy option next year, but he may no longer be the elite goal-scoring center he once was.--Russ Ivanac - RotoBaller
