New York Islanders goaltender Semyon Varlamov (undisclosed) will travel with the team to Carolina, but he isn't expected to play on Thursday. Hard-hitting winger Matt Martin is also among the traveling squad but isn't game-ready either. Varlamov split time with Ilya Sorokin last season as both Russian netminders enjoyed a very good campaign behind a rock-solid Islanders defense. The 33-year-old posted a 19-11-4 record with a 2.04 goals-against average, a .929 save percentage and seven shutouts. Sorokin, who went 13-6-3 during his rookie year, is a great backup option for the Islanders and for fantasy managers, but Thursday's matchup is a tough one.--Taavi Pailk
