Sandy Alcantara Could Start Next Weekend
Sandy Alcantara is "nearing a return" to the mound. He and all of the 18 Marlins on the COVID-19 injured list have been allowed back to the alternate training site in Jupiter, Florida. Alcantara is throwing a bullpen today and will then throw a simulated game and could be ready for a start against the Washington Nationals next weekend. Alcantara was excellent on Opening Day but has not pitched since, so it's unclear where his stamina will be when he next toes the rubber.
