Ryan Pepiot, Michael Grove Could Open Season In Rotation

With Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tony Gonsolin (ankle) looking increasingly unlikely to be ready for Opening Day, his rotation spot would probably go to either Ryan Pepiot or Michael Grove. The team will take things slowly with Gonsolin after he sprained his left ankle in camp on Monday. It will be a great opportunity for either of the young pitchers, but it remains to be seen how many turns through the rotation they'll need to fill early on. Pepiot had a 3.47 ERA with 42 K's in 36 1/3 innings for LA last year, but he has had issues with control at times. The 26-year-old Grove had a 4.60 ERA in seven outings (six starts) in his first major-league action in 2022. Either Pepiot or Grove would be worth looking into as early season streamers in LA's rotation.
