4 years agoBaltimore Orioles prospect Ryan Mountcastle is off to a slow start this spring but he slugged two extra-base hits on Sunday. Expected to see playing time in left field and at first base, the rookie is just 4-for-22 this spring but has three hits in his past three games — all of which have been doubles. All four of his hits this spring have been for extra bases and he's also struck out just four times. The big issue has been an over-aggressive approach as he has yet to take a free pass in eight games. The same issue plagued Mountcastle throughout the minors but he showed an approach last year at the major league level which allowed him to produce a 141 wRC+ in 35 games.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
