Penske Racing's Ryan Blaney held off the pack for a thrilling victory in the Geico 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. Blaney and his Penske teammates were the class of the field, and Blaney's No. 12 led a race-high 63 laps. This win is the second straight for Blaney at Talladega, and it continues his recent hot streak on the superspeedway tracks. Impressively, Blaney also spent over 96 percent of the race in the top 15, something that is very difficult to accomplish with the nature of superspeedway racing. Blaney, along with new crew chief, Todd Gordon, is making a case for being a championship contender. Blaney jumps to third in Cup standings and has six top-fives in his last seven races.--John Pitucci - RotoBaller
