Russell Shepard Granted Release
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Russell Shepard asked for his release and was granted it on Monday after he refused to take a pay cut, according to sources. The move will save the team a little more than $2.1 million against the salary cap. Shepard didn't have much of an impact in 2017 with Carolina, catching just 17 passes for 202 yards and one touchdown, which came in Week 1. He's unlikely to latch on with another team and contribute for fantasy owners.
