Russell Gage Week-To-Week With Ankle Injury
3 years agoAtlanta Falcons wide receiver Russell Gage (ankle) is considered week-to-week with an ankle injury that he suffered in the Week 2 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to a source. The Falcons will wait until Friday to see if Gage can possibly suit up in Week 3 against the New York Giants, although he appears to be more of a long shot as things stand now. Gage was a popular sleeper in fantasy during the preseason with Julio Jones out of town, but he has just five catches on nine targets for 28 yards through two weeks and now looks likely to sit out this Sunday and possibly beyond. He's an early season drop candidate in standard-sized leagues. If Gage misses Week 3, Christian Blake and Olamide Zaccheaus should see more playing time, but they aren't realistic weekly starting options for fantasy managers. If anything Calvin Ridley and tight ends Kyle Pitts and Hayden Hurst will see more targets.
