Rory McIlroy In Dominant Form Ahead Of Genesis Invitational
Rory McIlroy is arguably enjoying one of the best stretches of golf in his illustrious career. Since his T9 at the Tour Championship to close out last season, The 35-year-old Northern Irishman has racked up six finishes inside of the top-10 in his last seven starts, including two runner-up finishes and two outright victories. Most recently, the OWGR No. 1 cruised to a two-shot victory over his good friend Shane Lowry at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, gaining over seven strokes from tee-to-green and over three and a half strokes putting. He could be in line for another top-10 showing at the Genesis Invitational, as he ranks first in driving distance, fourth in total driving, 13th on approach, first in birdie-or-better percentage, and ninth in bogey avoidance over the last 36 rounds, while also boasting the second-best course history at Torrey Pines. Fantasy managers should not be surprised if McIlroy finds himself in contention for back-to-back Tour victories come Sunday evening.
