Robert Suarez Crumbles in Ninth Inning
Ranger Suarez was called upon to protect a four-run lead against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday. The normally reliable closer was hit around in this non-save situation. He gave up three straight hits before finally striking out Corbin Carroll to record the first out. After that, Suarez gave up a hit to Ketel Marte and a game-tying triple to Geraldo Perdomo. Suarez was removed from the game and left-hander Adrian Morejon allowed an inherited runner to score and give Suarez the loss. This was an awful performance that inflated Suarez to a 3.23 ERA on the season. Despite this disaster, Suarez has been reliable, converting 21-of-23 save chances. Fantasy managers should keep riding with him despite the ugly outing.
