Robbie Ray Already Rehabbing Following Tommy John Surgery
2 years agoSeattle Mariners left-hander Robbie Ray (elbow) is scheduled to head to the team's spring training facilities in Arizona on May 26 to begin post-surgery work, according to general manager Justin Hollander. The normal progression for recovery from Tommy John surgery is to not begin throwing until at least six months after the procedure, which was on May 3 for Ray. The southpaw hurler said on May 13 that 10 days after the surgery, his rehab process consists mostly of wrist and hand movement as well as gradually straightening his left arm. With the recovery period for Tommy John surgery typically at 12-18 months, Ray is unlikely to be ready to go by the beginning of spring training next year.
