San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman said it would take something out of the ordinary for him to return to the team in 2021. The salary cap is expected to drop next year and the 49ers are slated to have around 40 players reach free agency, including left tackle Trent Williams. San Fran is expected to make signing Williams and star linebacker Fred Warner their top offseason priorities. Sherman represents himself in contract negotiations and has direct knowledge of what could happen with the NFL's salary cap situation. The 32-year-old returned in Week 12 from a calf injury that kept him out since Week 1. He's no longer the elite athletic cornerback in his 10th season, but Sherman continues to get it done and is a key presence in their secondary.
