Rich Hill Ramping Up Throwing Program
5 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Rich Hill (elbow) said he's on his second week of throwing and will slowly ramp up to long toss in a few weeks. The team has mapped out a rough plan and if all goes well, Hill expects a month-long rehab assignment in May and a return sometime in early June. We shouldn't expect an early return from a veteran left-hander that will turn 40 in March, but Hill could be quite attractive off the waiver wire in mixed leagues when he makes his Twins debut. The Boston native only made 13 starts for the Dodgers in 2019, but he was great with a 2.45 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 11.0 K/9 in 58 2/3 innings. He could really excel in Minnesota's pitcher-friendly park, too, but health is always the question mark with Hill.
