Commissioner Rob Manfred disciplined the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday after an investigation of sign-stealing from the 2018 season. J.T. Watkins, the team's video replay system operator will be suspended for the 2020 season and playoffs, and he'll be prohibited from serving as a replay room operator during all of 2021. Boston will forfeit their second-round pick in this year's draft. Former manager Alex Cora will be suspended through the conclusion of 2020 for his conduct as the bench coach of the Astros in 2017. Watkins used game feeds to decode sign sequences from other teams, but there was no evidence that Cora was aware of this during his time as manager. In a year where the MLB draft will already be shortened due to the coronavirus pandemic, this further hurts Boston's player development.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
