Pittsburgh Pirates Acquire Chris Stratton
6 years agoThe Pittsburgh Pirates have acquired pitcher Chris Stratton from the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for cash considerations. Stratton was designated for assignment on May 7 after starting the year 0-2 with an 8.59 ERA in 29 1/3 innings pitched. The right-hander has a 22:18 K:BB, mainly as a starter, but there is no signs of how the Pirates plan to use him. The team demoted reliever Dovydas Neverauskas to Triple-A Indianapolis Sunday to make room for Stratton. With a 5.66 SIERA, this move doesn't give the former Angel any fantasy value at the moment, especially until we see how the Pirates plan on using him. Maybe a change of scenery will help Stratton carve out a role with the Bucs.
