Phillip Lindsay Not On Track To Return In Week 3
4 years agoDenver Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay (toe) missed practice on Wednesday and doesn't appear likely to return to action in Week 3 against the Buccaneers after sitting out in Week 2 with turf toe. Lindsay initially suffered the injury in the season-opener, and his timetable was set for two to four weeks. His injury makes Melvin Gordon more of an RB2 because of his guaranteed larger workload, with Royce Freeman picking up scraps behind him. Lindsay is probably only worth holding onto right now in shallow leagues if you own Gordon. The two were in a near-even timeshare in Week 1 before Lindsay was injured, which means that Lindsay could have some deep league RB3/flex appeal in PPR formats when he returns.
