Phil Hughes and Kirby Yates Return for Padres
Phil Hughes off of the disabled list and reinstated Kirby Yates from paternity leave. Kazuhisa Makita and Robert Stock were sent to Triple-A in corresponding moves. Hughes has pitched to a disappointing 6.23 ERA since coming to the Padres and holds no fantasy value. Yates, on the other hand, has a strong 0.79 ERA with a 41/9 K/BB ratio over 34 games. He's stuck behind closer Brad Hand for now, but Hand has been mentioned as a potential trade piece at the deadline. If Yates is given an opportunity to see regular saves, he could become a must-have in deeper fantasy leagues.
