Pete Alonso Returns to Mets Lineup
Pete Alonso (hand) is back at first base and is hitting cleanup for the Mets in the series opener at Citi Field on Monday against the visiting Los Angeles Angels and left-hander Tyler Anderson. Alonso didn't start for the first time all year in Sunday's win over the Cincinnati Reds, but he did appear as a defensive replacement late in the contest to maintain his streak of games played. The 30-year-old All-Star needs to be returned to all fantasy lineups, even though he's been cold so far in July. Alonso is hitting .222 with a home run and two RBI in nine career at-bats against Anderson. Alonso hasn't homered since July 8 and has gone 9-for-51 (.176) with three homers, two doubles, 12 RBI and a 13:9 K:BB in 15 games so far this month. Despite being cold of late, Alonso is a must-start slugger in fantasy.
